Webinar: the geopolitics of rare earths in Africa

The geopolitics of rare earths in Africa: a struggle for power and a strategic battleground?

A webinar held in French, the first of the series, organised by the Initiative Afrique of the University of Bern.

The webinar argues that Africa, despite its huge resources, remains a bystander and sees its sovereignty undermined by the countries that exploit these resources, for lack of a strategy to transform and industrialise them. The guest speaker is Prof. Steeve NZEGHO DIEKO (Université Omar Bongo, Libreville), researcher at the CRECCAPI laboratory and president of the think tank CAPS (Centre africain d’Analyses Politiques et Stratégiques). The session is moderated by Dr Djouroukoro Diallo.
